Photography: Gel Filters

Sam dropped by yesterday, having been to a theatre tech expo recently, and gave me a swatch of Lee gel filter samples to play with. Gels are usually used for lighting effects, but I decided to play around with the camera to see what effects I could get.

The following were all shot on a Canon Ixus 400. All photos were taken indoors on Cloudy setting with Macro, no overhead artificial light. No photomanipulation apart from rotating 90° CW and resizing to 600x800.

I think I shall be mounting these gels in card frames to make it easier to mount them in some form of lens cap to fix over the front of the camera lens. I think I'm going to have lots of fun experimenting with these!
