And then there were 17!

For my combined birthday/Christmas present, my partner bought me a 62cm female Mirodoll body in Normal yellow skin, and it arrived yesterday. So Galhaia, my CP Juri 2005 girl, got upgraded to a taller resin body that matched her resin better than the Obitsu 60 body she's been on for nearly ten years - over that time, her resin has yellowed more than the vinyl body had so it was no longer a good match for her. It's a perfect match for Seraphina, my modded CP Sleeping Soony girl however - so Seraphina got a body and Galhaia got an upgrade! Add to that little Autumn, the tiny 14cm tall ABS Hujoo girl I got back in November, and that brings my tally now to 17 complete dolls and no floating heads!

Lazy Sunday

Marius seemed to be rather reluctant to leave the comfort of his bed this morning!










He wasn't the only one, it seems; Perseus always sappears to be startled by the morning:


And Myrddin is always such a deep sleeper, it can be hard to tell if he's dreaming or dead:


But both Perseus and Myrddin enjoy a sleepy cuddle in bed on a lazy Sunday morning.

Just Marius

Marius' old auburn wavy wig (which he's had as his default, on and off, since I first got him back in November 2005), has finally died a death and is just too frizzy and ratty really to be wearable any more. So I decided to pop this ginger Monique wig on him for now.

It's actually a size too large, but with velcro it holds in place. It's actually just as old as his old wig, but has withstood the test of time better; and the lighter colour seems to suit his face-up very well.

Marius is a whiteskin Dollshe V2 Hound.

A Gentleman's Hands

I just finished sewing this pair of gloves this morning. They are handsewn in leather-look 4-way stretch "wet look" lycra for 70cm dolls such as Dollshe Hound and Bermann; Marius is modelling them. I've never attempted to sew even human-sized gloves before, let alone 1:3 scale gloves as small as this!






To give you an idea of the scale of the gloves.

They are prototypes, made to help me figure out how to make them as much as anything else. I have a better idea now of how I'm likely to go about future pairs. I've never sewn even a human-sized pair of gloves before, so this has been something of an experiment! I'm quite pleased with how they came out.

Dollmeet - London, April 2009

Last Sunday I attended a regular monthly dollmeet held at the Royal Festival Hall with my eldest and youngest daughters, plus Marius (Dollshe Hound), Kai (CP El) and Gabrielle (MNF Shiwoo girl). My eldest daughter had brought her doll, Nimue (modded Obitsu Gretel elf on Volks Dollfie Dream 1 body).
